The short version

We collect only what we need to sell you a ticket, run the movie competition, keep you updated about the tour, and keep the site working. We don't sell your information.

What we collect

Account details: your email address, and your name when you give it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google — never your password.

Orders and tickets: the city and tier you bought, quantities, the amount paid, and your ticket codes. Card details go straight to our payment processor; we never see or store them.

Competition entries: your name, contact details, movie title, runtime, the link to your movie, and — for entrants under 18 — a parent or guardian's name and email.

Messages and lists: what you send through the contact form, RSVPs and comments you post, city requests, and email sign-ups.

Technical information: the page you were on, your browser type, and error details when something breaks, so we can fix it.

How we use it

To sell and honor tickets, run entry and check-in at the events, judge and screen competition entries, reply to your messages, send tour updates you asked for, and diagnose problems with the site.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who else sees it

A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so the site can function: our hosting and database provider, our payment processor for card payments, our email provider for the emails we send you, and Google when you choose to sign in with Google.

We also share what's necessary with the venues and event staff to get ticket holders through the door. Beyond that, we disclose information only if the law requires it.

Public information

Some things are public by design. If you choose to appear on a city's attendee wall or post a note, the display name and text you chose are visible to other visitors. Your email address is never shown publicly. You can ask us to remove a public entry at any time.

How long we keep it

Order and ticket records are kept while they're needed for the events and for our accounts. Competition entries are kept for the run of the competition and the feature it feeds into. Email list sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Error diagnostics are kept only as long as they're useful for fixing the problem.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email we send. You can delete your account from the account menu, and you can ask us to correct or remove information about you by using the contact form in the footer.

If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian before entering the competition — we require their consent.

Security

Access to our database is restricted, sign-ins are handled by our authentication provider, and payment details never touch our own systems. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version. For any privacy question or request, reach us through the contact form in the footer.
